Biography
Dianne Smit
After completing a 25-year teaching career in a technical high school in northern New Jersey, Dianne moved to Michigan and began to volunteer at a non-profit refugee resettlement agency. When she found herself in a classroom facing refugee and immigrant students from all over the world who needed to learn to work in America, she was unable to find suitable curriculum for this diverse group and created the Work Skills series. She has helped countless students find successful employment in west Michigan using these materials so they are able to support their families. Dianne says that she has had the privilege of teaching some of the most wonderful people from all over the world who have shared their knowledge, friendship, and cultures with her as they learned Work Skills in America. She believes that her students have blessed her in ways she could never have imagined.
